Sustainability policy

With the aim of fulfilling our vision and mission to become the leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging systems in Southeast Europe, and enable customers to adapt and develop sustainable packaging and food safety with the application of modern production technologies, we at Proven d.o.o. in Sarajevo, fully understand and accept the obligation, responsibility and dedication to the preservation and improvement of the environment and sustainability, while respecting the following principles:

Reducing the amount of used raw materials through:

  • Continuous improvement of the raw material management process through 3 cycles: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
  • Development of technological solutions with the aim of reducing the weight of the product while maintaining or improving other technical characteristics of the product
  • Maximum use of recycled material
  • Substitution of raw materials that have a lower recycling potential with materials that have a higher recycling potential.
  • Use of return packaging (pallets) - Proven has a Green Label Certificate for participation in the circular pallet return system in the EU (PRS Green Label - prs-pooling.com).

Reduction of CO2 emissions by improving energy efficiency by undertaking the following activities and projects:

  • Using green energy and increasing the share of green energy in the finished product (in 2022, we built a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 420 kW, which achieved a share of green energy in the final product of 15.5-20%, and annual savings of 4 ,2 tons of CO2, annual savings of 10,550 tons of coal.
  • Maximum use of the release of thermal energy generated in the production process for the purpose of heating production and office premises - project to recover thermal energy from the cooling system of the plant for the purposes of heating and cooling office, production and storage areas in the company.
  • Reduction of heat losses in production and office premises (by replacing windows with windows of a higher energy class, installation of facade thermal panels.
  • Automatic lighting control (substitution of neon lights with automatic LED lighting).
  • Substitution of older equipment with modern equipment of a higher energy class (We are continuously innovating our machine park, through the substitution of existing equipment, with modern equipment of a higher energy class, which improves the quality and utilization of installed capacities while simultaneously saving significant energy).
  • Optimizing the use of compressed air
  • Optimized planning of goods deliveries, which directly reduces the number of kilometers travelled and saves CO2 emissions (Optimization of transport by reducing the number of deliveries, while increasing the volume of individual deliveries, which significantly reduces the number of kilometers travelled, fuel consumption and, consequently, the reduction of CO2 emissions).

Reducing pollution through:

  • Closed water cooling systems that prevent environmental pollution
  • Increasing production efficiency measures with the aim of reducing waste generation
  • Selected disposal of other waste
  • Education of workers about the importance of taking measures to prevent pollution
